Long-term Focus on Strategic Maintenance Development

Do you want to take a key role in developing maintenance in a technically complex process industry? We are now looking for a maintenance engineer who wants to drive a clear transition – from a partially operational approach to a more strategic, long-term, and preventive maintenance at the Bandugnsverket.

The Most Important Job of the Future

We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on the journey, personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and minerals industry?

Your Role

As a maintenance engineer with us, you will have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and coordinating maintenance to ensure high operational reliability and availability in our processing plants, specifically for this position in one of our pellet plants. The pellet plants are characterized by continuous operation, high availability criticality, and technically demanding processes and equipment in a complex production system.

The role is intended to have a clear strategic focus over time, where you work to create structures, working methods, and priorities that strengthen operational reliability and availability. The role is largely also tactical and operational with an ambition to evolve towards approximately: 50% strategic work, 40% tactical coordination, and 10% operational. This requires both technical understanding and the ability to translate theory and decided working methods into practice.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop maintenance strategies, maintenance plans, standards, and working methods
  • Plan, coordinate, lead, and analyze planned maintenance stops
  • Analyze and follow up maintenance data to prioritize the right efforts and drive long-term improvements
  • Drive dialogue and make prioritization decisions together with operations, maintenance, and contractors
  • Contribute to reducing dependence on operational ad hoc solutions

What You Bring

We are looking for someone who enjoys combining analysis, technology, and improvement work with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. We believe you have a strong interest in technology and find it easy to collaborate, communicate clearly, and at the same time have the ability to look ahead and work long-term. You are confident in your skills and comfortable making decisions in complexity according to both long-term strategies and urgent needs.

In addition to this, you have:

  • A degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Previous experience from industrial operations, preferably in process or mining industry
  • Good technical understanding of mechanical maintenance, for example: lubrication technology, bearings and rotating equipment, wear and material impact
  • The ability to work systematically and long-term with high flexibility
  • Driving license B
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Experience with data-driven maintenance systems, preferably IFS
  • Work with strategic or tactical maintenance responsibility
  • Experience in driving improvement work in complex production environments
